Iron
What are the health benefits?
The body uses iron to make haemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body, and myoglobin, a protein that provides oxygen to muscles thereby supporting muscle metabolism and healthy connective tissue. Without enough iron, there aren't enough red blood cells to transport oxygen, which leads to fatigue. Your body also needs iron to make some hormones.
Which are the food sources?
Red meat, liver, shellfish, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, spinach, beans, lentils and strawberries.
